WeGlow Mail vs Brevo for non-profits: price and GDPR

Brevo is a strong, cheap tool for sending lots of email, but WeGlow Mail is the better fit for a Belgian or Dutch non-profit that wants its donors, its mailing and its donation pages in one place. The two price differently: Brevo charges by emails sent, WeGlow Mail by contacts. Everything below is what the vendors publish, checked on 2 October 2026.

Price at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts

This is not a like-for-like table, and we will not pretend it is. Brevo's plans are built around how many emails you send per month, not how many contacts you hold, and its page shows "from" prices that rise with your volume.

If you mail 1,000 supporters once a month, that is 1,000 emails, which fits comfortably in the free plan's daily limit of 300 if you spread it or on Starter. We could not confirm Brevo's price for larger volumes in plain text, so we leave them out.

WeGlow Mail's published tiers are: from €19 per month (excl. VAT) for up to 1,000 contacts (12,000 emails a month), from €49 for up to 5,000 contacts (60,000 emails) and from €79 for up to 10,000 contacts (120,000 emails). With the WeGlow Pro platform plan (€40 per month or €400 per year) mailing is included up to 2,500 contacts; the 5,000 and 10,000 tiers then cost €42 and €67 per month on top of Pro. Honest summary: for a very small list that mails rarely, Brevo's free plan or €7 Starter is hard to beat on price alone. WeGlow Mail becomes interesting when mailing is a core part of how you raise funds, and when you value what comes with it.

Free plan and non-profit discount

Brevo's free plan has no credit card requirement and, once your account is approved for sending, allows up to 300 emails a day. WeGlow Mail is included free up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month in every plan.

Brevo says its 20% non-profit discount applies to recognised non-profit or charitable organisations that provide proof, such as a registration certificate, tax ID or an official website. WeGlow does not advertise a separate non-profit discount.

GDPR and hosting

Brevo's security page says its servers are located in the EU, with backups across three geographically distinct servers. Its privacy policy also says personal data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, which is normal for large vendors, so read the policy for your own record.

For WeGlow Mail we describe what the product does: every mail carries a compliance footer with your identity, address and unsubscribe link, bounced and unsubscribed people are excluded in a check step, and consent is recorded at import. We do not state a hosting country for WeGlow Mail here; ask us for the current statement before quoting it.

Donor data, editor and writing help

Brevo is a general marketing suite with CRM, WhatsApp and more. It has a drag-and-drop editor and an AI content generator for subject lines and copy. That is a lot of tool, and not everything is aimed at donors.

WeGlow Mail is narrower on purpose. It opens from your WeGlow login, WeGlow donors can be synced in as contacts, and smart groups fill from donations (active, frequent, monthly, lapsed and lost donors). You can start an automatic mail on a new donation or a lapsed contact, and personalise with {{first_name}} or donation tags. The block editor has live desktop and mobile preview, test sends and your branding on every mail. Glowie drafts a whole mail from an idea in about 30 seconds, and you review it before sending.

When does Brevo fit?

Brevo fits if your priority is low cost and high volume, if you also want WhatsApp, SMS or push in the same tool, or if you already run your donor data somewhere else and only need a sender. It also fits a tiny list that mails rarely.

Our recommendation

If your donors already come through WeGlow, or you want donations, a contact database and mailing from one login, choose WeGlow Mail. The Pro plan even bundles mailing up to 2,500 contacts. Try it in your WeGlow dashboard and send a first campaign to your free 250 contacts.
