WeGlow Mail vs MailerLite for non-profits: price and GDPR

MailerLite is cheaper; WeGlow Mail is connected to your donors. Prices at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts, discounts and GDPR, checked 2 Oct 2026.

MailerLite is cheaper than WeGlow Mail on paper and offers a 30% non-profit discount; WeGlow Mail is the better fit when your supporters are donors you already manage in WeGlow and you want mailing, donations and contacts under one login. We say that up front because the numbers below show MailerLite winning on price at every size we compared. Prices are the vendors' own, checked on 2 October 2026.

At a glance

MailerLite gives non-profits 30% off; WeGlow Mail is free up to 250 contacts and starts at €19 a month after that.

  • WeGlow Mail: free up to 250 contacts (500 emails a month), then from €19 per month (excl. VAT) for up to 1,000 contacts.
  • MailerLite: free plan with up to 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month and 2 user seats. Paid plans: Comfort and Power.
  • Non-profit discount: MailerLite gives 30% off paid plans for verified non-profits.
  • Hosting: MailerLite says its data storage centre is in the European Union (ISO 27001 certified).

Price at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts

The figures below are MailerLite's monthly-billing prices shown in euro on its pricing page (the page does not say whether VAT is included), next to WeGlow Mail's published prices excl. VAT.

  • 1,000 contacts: MailerLite Comfort €17, Power €35. WeGlow Mail from €19.
  • 5,000 contacts: MailerLite Comfort €44, Power €59. WeGlow Mail from €49.
  • 10,000 contacts: MailerLite Comfort €79, Power €109. WeGlow Mail from €79.

MailerLite takes 10% off for annual billing, and 30% off for non-profits (the two discounts do not stack; the larger one applies). Our own sum with the non-profit discount: Comfort at 5,000 subscribers comes to about €30.80 a month. That is cheaper than WeGlow Mail. With the WeGlow Pro platform plan (€40 per month or €400 per year), mailing is included up to 2,500 contacts, and the 5,000 and 10,000 tiers cost €42 and €67 per month on top of Pro. WeGlow has no separate non-profit discount that we advertise. Check the current prices in your dashboard.

Free plan

MailerLite's free plan covers the first 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails every 30 days, with a limited set of automations, forms and one landing page. WeGlow Mail includes up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month in every plan. MailerLite is clearly the roomier free tier for sending volume.

GDPR and hosting

MailerLite states that its data storage centre is located in the EU and that it has "all the necessary GDPR controls and procedures". Non-profits in Europe can prove their status with any official government document.

For WeGlow Mail we describe what the product does: a compliance footer on every mail with your identity, address and unsubscribe link, a check step that excludes bounced and unsubscribed people, and a consent tickbox recorded at import. We do not state a hosting country for WeGlow Mail on this page; ask us for the current statement before you quote it.

Donor data, editor and writing help

MailerLite is a generic newsletter tool: you import your supporters and keep that list in sync yourself. Its Comfort plan lists an AI writing assistant, preference centre and multivariate testing.

WeGlow Mail starts from the other end. It opens from your WeGlow dashboard, WeGlow donors can be synced in as contacts, and smart groups fill from donations (active, frequent, monthly, lapsed and lost donors). An automatic mail can start on a new donation or a lapsed contact, and you can use {{first_name}} and donation tags in the text. The block editor has live desktop and mobile preview, test sends, ready-made layouts and your branding. Glowie drafts a whole mail from an idea in about 30 seconds, and you review before sending. Imports have an undo for 24 hours.

When does MailerLite fit?

MailerLite fits when price is decisive, when your list is large and your budget tight, when you need its landing pages and websites builder, or when donations are handled elsewhere and you only need a good newsletter sender. With the 30% discount it is among the cheapest serious options.

Our recommendation

If you already collect donations with WeGlow, or plan to, the few euros you may save elsewhere are often spent again on exports, imports and checking two lists. WeGlow Mail keeps donors and mailing together, and the Pro plan bundles mailing up to 2,500 contacts. Try it in your WeGlow dashboard on the free 250 contacts, then decide.
