Children for Future
The mission of the Children's Association for the Future is to improve the quality of life for children from vulnerable backgrounds and to create a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations by reducing school dropout, promoting social and professional integration, providing psychological support, school and career guidance, and reducing extreme poverty. We are carrying out numerous education and community activation projects in several communities in Romania - Hunedoara County, Ialomita, Bacau, Tulcea, Giurgiu, Ilfov, and Bucharest. Our main program is the Community Lunch - is an initiative that combines socialization with active learning and reducing food waste, dedicated to children from disadvantaged social backgrounds, as well as to elderly individuals whose incomes do not allow them to live decently. As part of the "Community Lunch" program, together with members of local communities, the volunteers of the association prepare hot meals for children and the elderly, while other volunteers organize various workshops and educational activities for the children present at the event.Because we care about the health of the Planet, we support the reduction of food waste through our actions, so 70% of the ingredients used to prepare community lunches come from food banks and local producers.Personal development workshops, creativity, music, dance, and movement are beneficial activities for the healthy development of children. The practice of having meals together, learning hygiene and conduct rules, as well as positive socialization, are values that significantly contribute to preparing children for adult life. Aside from the Community Lunch, we have developed 2 educational after-school centers, one in a marginalized neighborhood in Bucharest and the other in Simeria, Hunedoara County. Annually, over 5000 children are helped not to drop out of school - they receive educational support, clothing, and footwear.
