Light a Candle of Hope for Displaced Children in Ethiopia
Campaign Story Seven year old Tadesse Girma driven from home by violent conflict in Ethiopia, Tadesse carries invisible scars nightmares and fear that rob him of sleep and play. Like hundreds of displaced children here, he desperately needs a safe space to heal, laugh, and simply be a child again. With your help, we can change this story. For the past four years, Yenetabet has been a trusted lifeline in the Debre Berhan IDP centers in Ethiopia, using play therapy, art, music, and interactive storytelling with characters like Loli and YoYo to release toxic stress and rebuild emotional well being. Our proven programs go beyond healing: we successfully transition displaced children into neighborhood public schools by providing school bags, notebooks, and learning tools, backed by special achievement awards that build self confidence. Now, as internal displacement continues to grow, the need on the ground is greater than ever. With €15,000, we will fund continuous play therapy sessions, trauma-relief activities, and academic reward packages for 1600 displaced children this semester. You can light a candle of hope for a child today. €25 provides basic school notebooks and a learning toolkit for an integrated IDP student. €50 funds art and play therapy materials for a group healing session. €100 sponsors an achievement reward package to celebrate a child's milestone progress and school attendance. Your donation provides the tools these children need to process trauma, stay in school, and believe in a brighter future. Thank you for standing with Yenetabet to help children in Debre Berhan play, heal, and learn.
