A donation page for your Christmas campaign

What a Christmas campaign donation page needs: story, photo, amounts, payment methods, the four experiences, sharing, thanks and tax certificates.

In short A donation page for your Christmas campaign needs four things: a short story with a real photo, four or five amounts with a label, payment methods your donors know and a clear button. Build the page as a draft, test it yourself and only go live when everything is right. Then do not forget thanks and certificates.

This article describes the rules in Belgium.

A donation page for your Christmas campaign is where a visitor actually gives. Your emails, posts and posters send people there, so it pays to get that one page right. On WeGlow.world you build it in the donation page builder of your organisation dashboard.

What does every donation page need?

Every donation page for a Christmas campaign needs a title that names the cause, a short story with one real photo, a few amounts with a label, payment methods and a thank you text. Every extra choice slows a donor's decision.

ElementWhyExample (invented)
TitleSays what you are raising money for, not only who you areHot meals for Christmas Eve
Story and photoMakes the cause concreteThree sentences and a photo of your work
Amounts with labelAn amount that does something feels more real than a bare numberA hot meal
Payment methodsA donor drops out if their method is missingBancontact, iDEAL or card
Thank you textSays what happens nextA warm thank you and what the gift makes possible

How do you write the story and choose the photo?

Write three short sentences: who you help, what the gift does and why it matters at Christmas. Choose one real photo of your work, not a stock image. Do not show recognisable children without written permission from their parents.

If you are short of time, Glowie helps. In WeGlow.world, Glowie rewrites your story in three tones: personal, professional or urgent. You keep your own text until you choose the new version yourself. Glowie can also prepare a donation form as a suggestion, which you confirm before it goes live.

Which amounts and payment methods do you put on it?

Choose four or five amounts and give each a label that says what it does. Work back from your real costs and never show an amount you cannot deliver on. In WeGlow.world you set single and monthly amounts separately, each with its own label.

Which payment methods a donor sees depends on your organisation's payment provider. WeGlow.world works with Mollie, Stripe and Payconiq, among others. On its own payment methods page, Mollie lists Bancontact, iDEAL and cards, among others (checked on 9 October 2026). Which methods you offer exactly, you check in your own account and with a test gift.

The donation form runs in three steps: amount, personal details and summary. A donor fills in a first name and an email address, and can give anonymously. The page also works on a phone.

What are the four Christmas experiences, and are they available yet?

The four Christmas experiences are interactive Christmas pages for charities: Glow Room, Starry Sky, Gift Yard and Card Wall. They are still ready as a concept and only go live when WeGlow.world officially launches them. You can already view and try them in preview mode on the Christmas hub.

In every experience, a gift becomes something visible and personal. The donor writes a card with a name and a message, optionally with a photo, and then chooses how to pay.

  • Glow Room: a living room with a Christmas tree, where every gift becomes a decoration on the tree.
  • Starry Sky: a starry sky where every gift becomes a star and you fly from star to star.
  • Gift Yard: a wintry scene whose setting you choose, where every gift becomes a present with a little card.
  • Card Wall: a wall full of envelopes, where every gift becomes a card.

To be honest about the status: you can view the pages, but you cannot publish your own version yet. The design path in the hub is a coming soon for now. If you have a Christmas campaign planned, build your regular donation page now and decide later whether an experience fits. To find out when they go live, follow the hub.

How do you make the page as a draft and go live?

You first save a donation page as a draft and go live when you are ready. In the builder every page has a status, and a new page starts as a draft. That way your team can test everything before the public sees the link.

  1. Create an account on WeGlow.world and open the donation page builder.
  2. Fill in title, subtitle, story and photo.
  3. Set your amounts and labels, single and optionally monthly.
  4. Make a test gift yourself and read the thank you email.
  5. Set the status to live and share the link.

You will find a week by week plan in the playbook for your Christmas campaign, and ideas for the format in the article on Christmas campaigns for a charity.

How do you share the page and remind your donors?

Share one link everywhere and ask people personally. Put the link in your emails, on your social media and on posters, and send a reminder with a new story 2 weeks before Christmas. One page with one goal works better than three pages competing with each other.

In WeGlow.world supporters can start their own action page for your campaign, so they approach their friends, family and colleagues themselves. You will find example emails and posts in the downloads of the Christmas hub.

What do you not forget after the gift: thanks and certificates?

After the gift you must say thank you and, if your organisation may issue a tax certificate, send the certificates. WeGlow.world sends a thank you email automatically, but only if your organisation has filled in a thank you text. Do that before you go live.

In Belgium, a gift entitles the donor to a tax reduction of 30 percent of the amount paid, from at least 40 euro per year and per institution, according to the FOD Financiƫn (the Belgian federal tax authority) (checked on 9 October 2026). The gift must be made within the same calendar year and the recognised institution supplies a tax certificate. Since 1 January 2024, the organisation must ask for the national register number (rijksregisternummer) for this. A gift with something in return does not count.

In WeGlow.world a donor can fill in their tax details when giving, if your organisation may issue certificates. You then send the certificates yourself with one click to all donors entitled to one. This does not happen automatically. Read more in the article on sending tax certificates.
