WeGlow vs iRaiser: an alternative with public pricing

iRaiser publishes no prices and starts with sales. WeGlow has public pricing and a free plan with peer-to-peer and events: faster for most associations.

iRaiser is software for large organisations: the price is not online and you start with a sales conversation. WeGlow is the simpler route for a vzw/asbl or foundation that wants to know the price up front and be live the same day, with peer-to-peer and ticketed events already in the free plan.

WeGlow vs iRaiser at a glance

iRaiser publishes no rates and starts with sales. WeGlow charges 5% per gift and has a free plan. These are the five differences.

  • Price: iRaiser publishes no rates. WeGlow charges 5% per gift, which your donor is asked to cover, plus a free plan and a Pro plan at €40 per month.
  • Getting started: with iRaiser you request a demo. With WeGlow you create an account and build your campaign yourself.
  • Peer-to-peer and events: both have them. On WeGlow they are in the free plan.
  • Belgian tax certificates: WeGlow lets you send them to all eligible donors with one click.
  • Audience: iRaiser targets large NGOs, WeGlow targets associations and foundations of any size.

What does iRaiser cost?

We do not know, and neither will you before you talk to them. iRaiser's website says it offers flexible pricing plans that depend on your organisation's needs and asks you to get in touch. There is no pricing page and no entry plan.

That is the normal way to sell business software and not wrong in itself, but it means you cannot compare iRaiser with other options until you have had a conversation. We also found no published time to go live.

iRaiser has a free self-service version, iRaiser Go. According to our sources it is only available in the Netherlands and needs a KvK number and ANBI status. For a Belgian vzw that is not an option.

What does iRaiser do well?

To be fair, iRaiser has a broad offer. Its fundraising events page lists peer-to-peer with individual and team pages, event websites, registration flows, ticketing, a webshop module, a Strava integration and email automation. For a large national event with a team that can carry an implementation, that is a strong package.

Why WeGlow for most associations?

Most small and mid-sized organisations do not need an implementation project. They need a campaign that can go online today. This is what WeGlow offers:

  • A public price: 5% per gift. Your donor is asked to cover that cost. If a donor does not, you pay the 5%. Your own payment provider (Mollie or Stripe) charges its normal fees on top.
  • A lot in the free plan: peer-to-peer with personal fundraiser pages and teams, events with ticketing, monthly gifts and donor management with the full gift history per donor.
  • Pro at €40 per month or €400 per year: adds donation forms for your own website, plus WeGlow Mail and integrations.
  • No contract, no setup fees: you cancel monthly.
  • Do it yourself: in your own colours and logo, with an account on WeGlow.world. Gifts go straight to your organisation through your own Mollie or Stripe account.

What about tax certificates?

In Belgium a gift to a recognised organisation is deductible from €40 per calendar year, with the donor's national register number on the certificate. WeGlow collects the details with the gift and tracks who reaches the threshold. You send the certificates with one click to all eligible donors; it does not happen by itself.

We did not find published information on whether and how iRaiser supports Belgian certificates, so ask in your demo.

When does iRaiser fit?

iRaiser fits if you are a large organisation with a national event, a budget for an annual licence and a team that can manage an implementation and integrations. If you need something specific like a Strava integration, iRaiser lists it and WeGlow does not. That is a good reason to choose iRaiser.

Conclusion

Are you an association or foundation that wants to know costs up front, start fast, and combine peer-to-peer and events with donor management and Belgian certificates? Choose WeGlow. Are you a large NGO running a vendor selection with an enterprise budget? Then iRaiser belongs on your shortlist next to other enterprise vendors.
