Giving Tuesday run sheet: 1 December hour by hour

A run sheet for 1 December: what to do when, a template for the mid-day update and what to do when it goes wrong.

TL;DR On Giving Tuesday you win by being present. This run sheet gives you a schedule from 07:30 to 23:30, a template for the mid-day update and a plan for when things go wrong. Line up a second person so you can take a break. With WeGlow.world your donation page is ready.

On 1 December everything happens at once: emails, posts, replies and donors. A run sheet stops you from guessing what to do next.

Adapt the schedule to your own team. Write down who does each hour and tick it off.

If it goes wrong

Three things often go wrong, and each has an honest answer.

  • Payment page slow or down: say so honestly, offer an alternative (bank transfer with reference) and extend the campaign by a day if needed.
  • The total lags behind: do not exaggerate. Honest urgency works better than panic.
  • A critical comment: reply briefly, kindly and factually, and take the conversation private if needed.

What not to do

Three mistakes that are easy to avoid on the day itself.

  • Do not post the same ask every hour.
  • Do not email "give now" to people who already gave.
  • Do not glue yourself to the screen all day: plan breaks and a second person.

Frequently asked questions

When do I start on 1 December?

Around 07:30: you open the page, make a test gift and check that the counter is right. With WeGlow.world you can prepare and test your page in advance.

How many emails do I send on the day?

Two to three is normal: a morning email and an evening email for those who have not given yet. Schedule them in WeGlow Mail in advance so you do not have to think about them on the day.

What if the payment page is slow?

Say so honestly and offer an alternative, for example a bank transfer with a reference. Always test your WeGlow.world page a week in advance.
