WeGlow CRM vs Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud for non-profits
WeGlow CRM is €29/month for 1,000 contacts; Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud is €70 per user. Price, setup and Belgian certificates side by side.
WeGlow CRM costs €29 a month (excl. VAT) for up to 1,000 contacts, with no per-user fee. Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud starts at €70 per user per month on an annual contract, although eligible non-profits can get 10 licences at no cost through Power of Us. For a typical Belgian or Dutch non-profit that wants donations, fiscal certificates, volunteers and members in one place, we recommend WeGlow CRM. Salesforce fits when you need a heavily customised system and have people to run it.
At a glance
WeGlow CRM prices by contact band, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud by user: €70 per user per month for Core.
- WeGlow CRM: price follows the number of contacts, not the number of users. From €29 a month for 1,000 contacts, €59 for 5,000, €89 for 10,000 (all excl. VAT).
- Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud: priced per user. Core €70, Advanced €125, and Max €285 per user per month, billed annually, according to Salesforce.
- Free licences: Salesforce's Power of Us programme gives eligible non-profits 10 Nonprofit Cloud Core licences at no cost.
- Donations: in WeGlow, gifts from your WeGlow campaigns land in the CRM. With Salesforce you build or connect that flow yourself.
What does each one cost at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts?
This is where the two systems count differently. WeGlow CRM charges by contacts: €29 a month (or €300 a year) up to 1,000 contacts, €59 (or €600) up to 5,000, and €89 (or €900) up to 10,000. Everyone in your team can use it. Check the current prices in your dashboard.
Salesforce does not price by contacts but by user. Nonprofit Cloud Core is listed at €70 per user per month, Advanced at €125 and Max at €285, all on an annual contract. So the contact count barely matters; the team size does. A team of four on Core would pay €280 a month after the free licences run out, but with ten free licences that bill may be zero at the start. Whether the free licences are available to your Belgian organisation depends on Salesforce's eligibility rules, which you should review in the Power of Us portal. We could not confirm Belgian eligibility on the pages we checked.
What the price list does not show is the work around it. Salesforce asks you to contact them for implementation details and quotes, and the page we checked publishes no timeline or partner rates.
How much work is the setup?
Salesforce offers a 30-day free trial and expert consultation, and points to a large community of nonprofit user groups. It does not publish what a typical implementation takes, so we will not guess.
WeGlow CRM is meant for the opposite situation: nobody on staff is a system administrator. You drop in a CSV or Excel file (a Mailchimp export works too), read in plain language what will happen, import, and undo the whole batch if something looks wrong. The CRM matches people by more than e-mail address alone, so contacts without e-mail are fine. Modules for members, volunteers, major gifts and certificates are switches you turn on or off.
What about Belgian specifics?
This is the part that matters most for a vzw. In Belgium, donors can receive a fiscal certificate when they give from €40 per calendar year to the same organisation. WeGlow's certificates feature generates and e-mails these yearly attestations, tracks which ones were sent or failed, and shows whether the required donor data is complete. The Belgian certificate is built in.
Salesforce can be configured for this, but the pages we checked do not describe a Belgian fiscal certificate as a ready feature. Salesforce pages we read also do not state interface languages beyond English, so we leave that open. WeGlow is available in Dutch, French and English (and also German and Spanish).
Donations, volunteers, members and major gifts in one place
In WeGlow CRM, each contact has a dossier with timeline, notes, tags, documents and gifts. Next to it sit tabs for members (with dues and a sign-up form), volunteers (shifts, availability, reminders), a major gifts pipeline with sponsorships, tasks, smart lists, automatic e-mails and reports. These tabs share the same contact list, so a donor who also volunteers is one person, not two records.
Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud is a broad platform and can cover all of this, but you decide how it is set up.
If you already use Salesforce, WeGlow can connect to it: after you link your account and map the fields, completed donations are synced as a contact and a donation.
When does Salesforce fit?
- You are a large organisation with an IT person or a consultant on retainer.
- You need custom objects, deep integrations or processes WeGlow does not cover.
- Your parent organisation already runs on Salesforce.
- You qualify for the free licences and have the time to set them up.
Conclusion: which one for a Belgian non-profit?
If your team is small to medium, your donations already come in through WeGlow, and you want fiscal certificates, volunteers and members without a project, WeGlow CRM is the simpler and more predictable choice: one price per contact band, no per-user fee. You can try it in your WeGlow dashboard.
If you need the full flexibility of a global platform and have the people to run it, Salesforce is a respectable option.
Is Salesforce really free for non-profits?
Not entirely. Salesforce says eligible non-profits receive 10 Nonprofit Cloud Core licences at no cost, and additional licences get discounted pricing. Support packages start with your first paid purchase.
Does WeGlow CRM charge per user?
No. The price follows the number of contacts. Starter covers up to 1,000, Growth up to 5,000 and Scale up to 10,000.
Can I move my contacts from Salesforce to WeGlow?
Export your contacts to CSV or Excel and use the import in the CRM. You review the result before importing and can undo the batch afterwards.
Do I get Belgian fiscal certificates in WeGlow?
Yes, the certificates tab handles the yearly attestation for donors who gave €40 or more in a calendar year, when the module is on (it is on by default).
