What is Glowie, and what can Glowie do for my non-profit?
Glowie is WeGlow's mascot and fundraising coach. In your dashboard Glowie suggests wording and drafts; you always confirm the result yourself.
Glowie is WeGlow's mascot and fundraising coach: a small candle with a big job. You meet Glowie in videos and in Glowie's Notes, and inside your WeGlow dashboard Glowie is the assistant who suggests wording, prepares drafts and thinks along. The short version: Glowie suggests, you confirm.
Who is Glowie?
Glowie is a character, not a real person. Glowie is made of wax and burns for good causes. The job is to help you raise more without making it complicated. On the blog, Glowie's Notes, Glowie shares fundraising tips with sources. By Glowie's own account, every tip is looked up, the sources are read, and Glowie says so when something is not known.
The character is invented, but the sources under each article are real and you can read them yourself.
You can also find Glowie on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, where Glowie posts short tips for people who raise money for good causes.
What does Glowie do inside WeGlow?
In your organisation's dashboard, Glowie lives in a chat window at the bottom right. You pick a mode: Help, Campaign, Analytics or CRM. Glowie can look up your organisation's data (donations, donors, campaigns, events, fundraisers, recurring gifts) and answers in plain words. Below, each feature says what you do and what Glowie does.
Rewriting a story in three tones
You write your fundraiser story, or leave it blank. Glowie writes a suggestion in a Personal, Professional or Urgent tone. You choose: “Use this version” or “Keep mine”. Your own text stays in place until you decide.
Preparing drafts as cards
You describe what you want, such as a campaign, a donation widget, a donation page, an event, a fundraiser template or a newsletter draft. Glowie prepares a proposal and shows it as a card in the chat. Nothing goes ahead until you confirm on the card. For a campaign Glowie can also prepare the thank-you mail and thank-you page in your organisation's languages. If you want changes, ask Glowie to adjust and the existing draft is updated instead of a new one being started. Newsletters land as drafts in WeGlow Mail and are never sent automatically.
Your brand style and Glowie's memory
Upload your brand guide in the chat and Glowie proposes colours and tone of voice. You see the colour swatches and confirm. Glowie can also remember lasting facts about your organisation, such as mission, audience and tone. That memory has its own screen, and you can delete any item.
Suggestions and a tour
The dashboard can show suggestions from Glowie: a campaign close to its goal, a draft that has been waiting for days, a campaign without a thank-you message, or donors who have been quiet for a long time. These are fixed templates filled in from your own data, not freely generated alerts, and you can ignore them. On your first visit Glowie also offers a short guided tour, which you can skip and restart later.
In the CRM
The CRM setup wizard is a fixed script, not an open conversation. It walks you through the modules you want, your membership types and your import, once, and you can run it again from the settings. In CRM mode Glowie can look up summaries and contact details, and propose switching CRM modules on or off or creating follow-up tasks. Both go through a confirmation card. In reports Glowie reads along and leaves notes, but the words stay yours. For an automated mail Glowie drafts a first version from your one-sentence brief, which you rewrite as you like.
Why does Glowie look so alive?
The mascot has more than a hundred expressions. Glowie can cheer, glow with joy or quietly re-read the sources. If you have not uploaded a profile photo, WeGlow shows a Glowie as your avatar. You pick from a set of characters, such as coffee, headphones or a chef's hat, and adjust the wax colour and background.
What Glowie does not do
In short: Glowie never acts without your confirmation and does not replace your judgement.
- Glowie does not publish, send or change anything without your confirmation. It is built that way: every change goes through a card with a button.
- Glowie does not send newsletters. Glowie prepares a draft and you send it.
- Glowie does not give definitive tax, legal or payment advice. On those questions Glowie sticks to what is known or points you elsewhere.
- Glowie does not replace your judgement. Read every proposal: you know your organisation and your donors.
- Glowie does not write your CRM reports. Glowie reads along and leaves notes.
What happens to my data?
According to WeGlow's privacy policy, Glowie processes the text of your conversations and may keep a memory about your organisation and preferences. WeGlow uses anonymised, aggregated data without names or email addresses to improve Glowie. Read the full policy for the details.
