Hagelandse 101 and WeGlow: every step counts for a charity of your choice
The Hagelandse 101, Belgium second largest walking event, is partnering with WeGlow for the first time. Every participant can now walk for a charity of their own choice. WeGlow is joining the walk for the Vlaamse Parkinson Liga.
On September 4, 2026, thousands of walkers will set off from the Leuven region for one of the most challenging walking achievements in the country. Over 100 kilometres through the Hageland, without any competitive element but with enormous determination. The Hagelandse 101 is Belgium's second largest walking event and draws participants every year who want to push their limits.
This year the event adds a new dimension. WeGlow and the Hagelandse 101 are announcing their first official open event partnership. Every participant can now not only push their own limits, but also walk for a charity of their own choice.
📅 Hagelandse 101 — September 4, 2026 in the Leuven and Aarschot region. Distances of 101 km to 106 km. Register via the official Hagelandse 101 website.
What does this mean for participants?
Anyone who registers for the Hagelandse 101 can create a personal fundraising page via WeGlow for a recognised charity of their own choice. Friends, family and colleagues can support that page with a donation. Every donation appears as a candle on the WeGlow world map and is shareable on social media.
The walk becomes more than a personal achievement. Every step you take contributes to a cause close to your heart.

Frequently asked questions
Do participants pay extra to create a fundraising page?
No. Creating a personal fundraising page via WeGlow is free for participants. WeGlow works with a commission model on received donations, but the participant pays nothing extra.
Which charities can a participant choose?
All recognised organisations listed on the WeGlow platform. The more organisations that register, the more choice participants have. That is why we are calling on charities to join as soon as possible.
How are donations paid out?
Donations are processed directly via WeGlow's connected payment provider and transferred to the account of the chosen charity. WeGlow never holds funds.
Is the Hagelandse 101 the only event where you can do this?
This is WeGlow's first open event partnership, but not the last. WeGlow Events is available for any major event that wants to give participants the chance to walk, run, cycle or swim for a charity. Interested as an organiser? Contact us via WeGlow.
