Reuse one story in email, posts and donation page
Write your Giving Tuesday story once and use it in four formats: email, post, story and donation page. With a table, Glowie tones and free layouts.
TL;DR Write your Giving Tuesday story once, in five sentences, then adapt it per channel: an email of 150 to 250 words, a post of 30 to 50 words and a donation page of 80 to 120 words. Your organisation then sounds the same everywhere and you save hours. With WeGlow.world, Glowie rewrites it in three tones and the emails are ready in WeGlow Mail.
On Giving Tuesday, Tuesday 1 December 2026, you have to speak in many places at once: in your email, on social media and on your donation page. Many small teams write every text from scratch. That takes time and makes your message messy.
A better approach is one core story in four formats. This article shows how to write it, how to shorten it and how to get the most out of WeGlow.world.
Why does one core story beat four separate texts?
One core story means your donors see the same message everywhere, which builds trust. It also saves time: you think once about who you help and why it matters now. The official toolkit recommends telling real stories and posting a lot on the day itself, see the GivingTuesday toolkit.
- Your donor recognises your message in the email, on Instagram and on your page
- You write once and only adjust the length afterwards
- Your team and volunteers tell the same story
- You still have time left for photos and thank-yous
How do you write the core story in five sentences?
Write your core story in five sentences: who you help, what the problem is, what your organisation does, what a gift makes possible and what you ask now. Keep it simple and use one person or one situation as the example. A request without a story is rarely read.
- Who? A person or group you help, with no identifiable details if you lack consent.
- What is the problem? One concrete situation, not a list.
- What does your organisation do? One sentence about your work.
- What does a gift make possible? Link an amount to an outcome.
- What do you ask now? One clear request with the date 1 December 2026.
A hypothetical example: suppose a non-profit runs a neighbourhood restaurant for older people who live alone. The core story is then about one guest who comes to eat every Thursday, about what a warm meal means and about what 25 euros makes possible.
Which format fits which channel?
Each channel has its own format and length. The donation page is shortest and clearest, the email may tell the story, and the post or story has one image and one request. The lengths in the table are guidelines from our experience with copy, not fixed rules.
| Channel | Format | Guideline length |
|---|---|---|
| Donation page | Title, subtitle and short text | 80 to 120 words |
| Subject, opening line, three short paragraphs, one button | 150 to 250 words | |
| Feed post | Real photo, one sentence and a link | 30 to 50 words |
| Story | Image at 1080 by 1920 and one line | 10 to 15 words |
Always start from the longest format, the email. Then pull the strongest sentence out for the post and the shortest request for the story. That keeps the common thread intact.
How does Glowie rewrite your story in three tones?
Glowie is the AI assistant of WeGlow.world. She rewrites your story in three tones: personal, professional and urgent. You read the three versions and choose what you keep. That way the text stays yours, even when you are short on time.
- Personal: warm and addressed to "you", ideal for your loyal donors
- Professional: sober and factual, handy for companies and partners
- Urgent: short and pressing, suited to the day itself
That is a suggestion for use, not a rule. You can also pick one tone for everything. Always check that the facts are right before you send anything.
How do you set the story up in WeGlow Mail?
In WeGlow Mail you schedule and send your emails. The Giving Tuesday emails from the email pack and the thank-you pack are already waiting there, you do not need to copy them. With {{first_name}} the email fills in each recipient's first name. Paste in your core story and schedule the send.
- Open the emails in WeGlow Mail.
- Replace the example story with your core story.
- Leave {{first_name}} in place for a personal greeting.
- Schedule one email for the morning of 1 December and a reminder later that day.
- Send a test email to yourself and check the link to your donation page.
Only email people you are allowed to email. Rules on direct marketing differ by country, and the GDPR applies across the EU, so check with your national data protection authority. You find them via the European Data Protection Board. More about the pack is in the guide with the email pack.
How do you make visuals for free?
With the free layout generator of WeGlow.world you make posts, stories, covers and email banners in four sizes: 1080 by 1080, 1080 by 1920, 1584 by 396 and 1200 by 400. When you are logged in, it fills in your name, logo and colour automatically. You add your key sentence and a real photo.
Use the same sentence from your core story in every visual. Then people see the same message on your page, in the email and on social media. You find the tool on the layouts page. How to build good posts is in the article on social media posts.
Which mistakes do you avoid when reusing?
The three biggest mistakes are pasting the same text everywhere, putting too many messages in one post and forgetting that your donation page must tell the same story. Reusing means shortening and adapting, not copying.
- Posting a long email text as a post, so nobody reads it all
- Naming a different amount or goal per channel
- Writing the story only on the day itself
- Using a photo or name without consent
- Forgetting that your donation page is the last step and must show the same sentence
Frequently asked questions
May I use exactly the same text on every channel?
You can, but it works less well. Keep the core the same and adjust the length per channel. With WeGlow.world you do that in one workspace, from donation page to email.
How long should the core story be?
Five sentences are enough, roughly 60 to 100 words in total. From them you derive every other format. WeGlow.world then lets you adjust the tone with Glowie.
What exactly does Glowie do with my story?
Glowie rewrites your text in three tones: personal, professional and urgent. You choose what you keep. You remain responsible for the content, also in WeGlow.world.
Do I have to write the Giving Tuesday emails myself?
No, the emails from the email pack and the thank-you pack are ready in WeGlow Mail. You only adjust your story. That way you start with WeGlow.world without a blank page.
Is the layout generator free?
Yes, the layout generator is free. When you are logged in, it fills in name, logo and colour automatically. An account on WeGlow.world is free to start.
